About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mooring Master / Deputy Marine Operations Manager to support safe, efficient, and high-performance marine operations within a fast-paced offshore project environment. This role is responsible for the safe execution of vessel berthing and movements while supporting the Marine Operations Manager in overseeing marine logistics, fleet scheduling, port operations, and vessel traffic control
Responsibilities
- Mooring & Vessel Operations
- Act as Mooring Master for vessel berthing and unberthing operations.
- Provide navigational and mooring guidance to Vessel Masters.
- Assess weather, tides, and currents to determine safe operating conditions.
- Coordinate tugboat-assisted manoeuvres when required.
- Ensure safe passenger transfers and landing craft operations.
- Verify readiness of berthing facilities, fenders, and mooring systems.
- Marine Operations Management
- Support daily marine logistics control and fleet coordination.
- Oversee scheduling, dispatch, routing, and vessel allocation.
- Manage a mixed fleet including speed boats, HSCs, landing crafts, tugboats, barges, and marine ambulances.
- Act as Deputy Marine Operations Manager during the Manager’s absence.
- Lead operational planning and coordination meetings.
- Operations Control Center (OCC) Oversight
- Provide functional leadership to the OCC team.
- Ensure effective vessel tracking, communication, and dispatch control.
- Maintain clear communication between OCC, Vessel Masters, and port teams.
- Ensure accurate operational reporting and tracking updates.
- Jetty Operations & Traffic Control
- Supervise marine base and vessel traffic activities.
- Manage berth allocation and turnaround efficiency.
- Oversee passenger embarkation/disembarkation and cargo handling.
- Ensure compliance with maritime and port regulations.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company HSE standards and maritime regulations.
- Ensure compliance with IMO conventions, including SOLAS and MARPOL.
- Review Risk Assessments (RA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
- Participate in incident investigations and emergency response activities.
- Ensure vessels and crews maintain valid certifications and operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) as Master Mariner (preferred), Chief Mate, or 2nd Mate with relevant experience.
- Valid STCW certifications.
- 5–10 years of marine industry experience.
- Experience in vessel operations, marine logistics, port operations, or fleet coordination.
- Experience with crew boats, HSCs, landing crafts, tugboats, or similar vessels.
- Exposure to multi-vessel scheduling and high-frequency vessel movements.
- Experience in offshore, remote-site, marine base, or island logistics environments is highly desirable.
