Position Summary Banquet Manager — Job Description The Banquet Manager oversees all banquet and event operations, ensuring seamless execution from planning through completion. This role manages staff, coordinates with clients and internal departments, maintains service standards, and ensures profitability and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Work with clients, event planners, and the sales team to understand event requirements and expectations.
  • Create detailed banquet event orders (BEOs) and timelines.
  • Coordinate room setup, décor, seating plans, AV needs, and menu selections.
  • Communicate event details to culinary, service, housekeeping, and other relevant departments.

Operational Management

  • Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet functions.
  • Ensure all food and beverage service standards are consistently followed.
  • Inspect event spaces for cleanliness, readiness, and safety.
  • Manage inventory of banquet supplies, linens, equipment, and décor.

Staff Supervision & Training

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise banquet staff (servers, captains, bartenders, setup crews).
  • Conduct pre-event briefings to discuss duties, timelines, and service standards.
  • Provide coaching and performance evaluations to maintain high service quality.

Guest Relations

  • Greet clients upon arrival and remain accessible during events to resolve issues quickly.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by providing attentive, personalized service.
  • Handle any complaints or conflicts professionally and efficiently.
