Job Title: Logistics Specialist

Location: Chickasaw, AL 36611

Employment Type: W2 Contract – 6 Months with Possibility for Extensions

Pay Rate: $30.00–$38.00/hour (determined by experience, paid weekly)

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Role Overview

BEPC is actively seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our customer’s team in Chickasaw, Alabama. This role supports international logistics and transportation operations by coordinating global shipments, ensuring export compliance, and managing shipping documentation across multiple transportation modes.

The ideal candidate has foundational logistics or supply chain experience, understands international shipping processes and export documentation, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while supporting global operations.

Key Responsibilities: Logistics & Transportation

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments across multiple transportation modes, including:
• Ocean (LCL and FCL)
• Air
• Road
• Rail
• Special equipment shipments
• Develop and execute logistics plans supporting production, distribution, and inventory operations.
• Coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely product delivery.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation issues.

Export Compliance & Documentation

• Prepare and review international shipping documentation, including:
• Commercial and Customs Invoices
• Packing Lists
• Certificates of Origin
• Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Documentation
• Bills of Lading
• Certificates of Analysis
• Prepare export documentation, including:
• Export Declarations
• Shipper’s Letters of Instruction (SLI)
• Other required export paperwork
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and export requirements.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure shipments comply with:
• IATA regulations
• IMDG regulations
• DOT regulations
• U.S. export regulations
• Country-specific import and export requirements
• Maintain compliance with company policies and global trade regulations.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with internal teams to support production, inventory, and customer delivery objectives.
• Analyze logistics processes and recommend improvements that reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
• Present logistics updates and shipment status to leadership as needed.
• Demonstrate sound judgment, accountability, and responsiveness when resolving transportation issues.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, supply chain, or a related field.
• Knowledge of domestic and international transportation methods.
• Familiarity with international shipping documentation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience with international freight and export documentation.

Knowledge of:

• IATA
• IMDG
• DOT shipping regulations
• U.S. export compliance
• Experience supporting global logistics operations.
• Experience presenting information to leadership teams.
