  • Using laboratory equipment, confirm the product chemistry and metallurgical compliance on incoming material from suppliers or material going through on-site heat treating or plating processes.
  • Understand and apply airworthiness requirements in the verification of products produced and received against a certificate.
  • Using advanced measurement equipment, performing verification and validation product audits and inspections, and developing software code as needed to execute the task.
  • Using basic hand tools, inspection gages, and test equipment, perform investigation and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical assemblies to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
  • Support the execution and maintenance of Design and Process risk assessments with an emphasis on escapes that are detected inside or downstream of the process.
  • Support multifunction teams in the corrective action development to address the highest RPN scores the risk assessments cumulatively show, including the design of improved controls, and the update of processes or products.
  • Support the execution of layered product audits by Quality Team Members and other Quality Engineers in the areas of expertise. Generate periodic Product Audit reports based on an audit schedule frequency issued by “Quality Lead – Quality Assurance”.
  • Support in the execution of layered process audits by Quality Team Members and other Quality Engineers in the areas of expertise. Generate periodic Process Audit reports based on an audit schedule frequency issued by “Quality Lead – Quality Control”.
  • Support the execution of system audits in the area of expertise. Generate periodic System Audit reports based on an audit schedule frequency issued by “Quality Lead – Quality Assurance”.
  • Support the documentation and confirmation of proper execution of PPAPs in the area of expertise.
  • Support the gauge calibration and instrument calibration process and reporting.
  • Assist all Process Managers in correctly formatting and uploading new or changed process maps, turtle diagrams, work instructions, and documents in the Continental document control system.
  • Support the technical prequalification of suppliers through verification and validation studies. As applicable, repeat this process when performance-triggered escalations occur.
  • Perform the D0 verification of defective product claims in the area of expertise.
  • Provide reports on returned products from other analytical, customer service, or other plants where expertise or testing equipment resides in Mobile.
  • Participates in workshops targeting improvements in Safety/Morale, Quality, Delivery, or Cost reductions with cross-functional and inter-functional teams.
  • Flexible to accept additional tasks issued by the Quality Manager or Plant Manager as needed to support organizational effectiveness, potentially including Deputy responsibilities when the Quality Lead – Quality Assurance is unavailable.
