About the Role We are hiring for one of our clients, a leading heavy building materials manufacturer. We are seeking a Project Engineer II who is ready to put their skills to work on projects that matter. The Project Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing engineering and system projects to improve plant condition, operability, reliability, cost, environmental, and safety performance. A primary objective is to improve the value of all company assets through increased reliability and lower operating costs while meeting production requirements within budget guidelines. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously throughout the year.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Review CAPEX Project proposals, reports, recommendations, and action plans for improvement prior to deployment to ensure completeness.
  • Establish, maintain, and update a technical database and library for projects and studies to share learnings.
  • Prepare project-engineering studies in collaboration with other sections to provide state-of-the-art technology, best practices, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct project-planning activities, including CAPEX justification, feasibility studies, evaluation of supplier quotations, and financial stability analysis.
  • Provide analytical and physical support in the manufacturing group through close monitoring and on-site supervision of CAPEX projects to ensure execution matches design and scope.
  • Prepare and review necessary drawings, including detailed and general arrangement layouts.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive technical cost estimates for project budgeting.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate technical management for assigned initiatives.
  • Ensure operations comply with design specifications, and that all construction operations are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Assist in supervising Field Engineers by assigning daily tasks, resolving site issues, and interpreting construction drawings for trades.
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings to resolve project issues, propose solutions to meet deadlines, and monitor job costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals by providing price analysis.
  • Promote a culture of safety by adhering to and communicating health, safety, and environmental policies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Field of Study: Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of equivalent engineering/project experience. Experience with cement, concrete, aggregates, or other building materials is a strong plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and SAP (or similar ERP systems).
  • Safety Requirement: Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and the proper use of approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass mandatory qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
