We are seeking a highly specialized Umbilical and Subsea Test Technician to join our team, focusing on the critical Factory Acceptance Testing (F.A.T) and verification of complex Subsea Umbilical’s and Products.

This is a hands-on role requiring proven expertise in extreme high-pressure hydrostatic testing and precision fiber optic fusion splicing. If your background is limited to general electrical work, networking setup, or low-pressure hydraulics, this role is not the right fit. We require mastery that ensures product quality under the most demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities & Specialized Requirements

  • High-Pressure Testing: Execute and assist in hydrostatic pressure testing of umbilical’s/products, specifically within the 5,000–30,000 PSI range.
  • Operate specialized equipment (e.g., Hydration pumps, pressure transducers, manifolds).
  • Conduct rigorous leak checks and verify integrity using digital recording systems (Compact RIO, NI).
  • Fiber Optic Expertise: Must have demonstrated experience in fusion splicing and performing OTDR testing through those splices (Outside Plant certified preferred).
  • Verify precise optical continuity and measure loss across splices and terminations.
  • Cable Testing: Perform verification tests on low-voltage (1000V) and medium-voltage ( 6000V) cables.
  • Conduct Hi-Pot, insulation resistance, conductor resistance, and impedance checks.
  • Documentation & Quality: Accurately record all test data, interpret complex test plots/schematics, and manage documentation for all FAT activities.
  • Identify, document, and escalate Non-Conformance Records (NCRs).
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols (PPE, LOTO, and safe pressure operations).

What We’re Looking For

  • Required: Hands-on experience with high-pressure testing (5,000–25,000 PSI minimum).
  • Required: Proven expertise in fiber optic fusion splicing and OTDR analysis.
  • Familiarity with pumps, manifolds, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, fiber, and hydraulic schematics.
