Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support aircraft final assembly and completion operations. The role will focus on optimizing production flow, capacity, aircraft progression, and operational performance within an assigned completion area.
The Industrial Engineer will work closely with manufacturing, production planning, operations, and cross-functional teams to identify constraints, improve throughput, balance workloads, and support on-time aircraft completion.
This position is execution-focused and requires strong analytical capabilities, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to translate operational data into actionable improvements.
Assigned Area of Responsibility
The Industrial Engineer will provide dedicated support for one or more of the following areas:
- Business Unit 3 – Final Assembly Line
- Completion Operations
- Aircraft progression by MSN
- Assigned Completion Bay/Hangar
Multiple Industrial Engineer positions may be required to provide dedicated coverage across Completion hangars and operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Operations
- Support production planning and scheduling activities for final assembly and completion operations.
- Monitor aircraft progression by MSN (Manufacturer Serial Number) and identify potential schedule or flow constraints.
- Analyze production requirements, available capacity, workload, and resource utilization.
- Support short- and mid-term production planning and execution activities.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and operations teams to address production constraints and priorities.
Capacity & Line Balancing
- Perform capacity analysis for assigned production and completion areas.
- Evaluate labor, equipment, space, and process capacity against production requirements.
- Conduct line balancing and workload analysis to optimize production flow.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend actions to improve throughput and utilization.
- Support assessment of capacity impacts resulting from production changes or operational constraints.
Manufacturing & Process Improvement
- Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and operational performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production delays, bottlenecks, and recurring operational issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, flow, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Develop and maintain process maps, including Value Stream Maps (VSM) where applicable.
Data Analytics & Performance Management
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational and production data.
- Develop performance metrics, dashboards, and visualizations to support operational decision-making.
- Use advanced Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain Power BI or equivalent reporting solutions.
- Translate data-driven insights into practical recommendations for manufacturing and operations leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with manufacturing, production control, operations, engineering, quality, and other functional teams.
- Communicate production risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities to relevant stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional problem solving and implementation of corrective actions.
- Track improvement initiatives and measure their operational impact.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Operations Engineering
- Other related engineering discipline
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production planning, operations, aerospace manufacturing, or operational excellence.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing or assembly operations.
- Experience with production planning, capacity analysis, and/or line balancing.
- Demonstrated experience analysing manufacturing operations and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.

Experience in aerospace final assembly, aircraft completion, or similarly complex manufacturing environments will be highly valued.
