SMITH INDUSTRIAL SERVICES hiring Inventory Parts Specialist in Mobile, AL

Reports to: Parts Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Purpose: To maintain current inventory, new parts coming in as well as parts going out.
Must complete all required safety-related training including, but not limited to TWIC, 10 Hour OSHA, Confined Space, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, Breathing Air Equipment Training and Fit Test, Confined Space Entry, Aerial Lift Training, Lock Out Tag Out, Heat Stress, MSHA, Defensive Driving, Hazard Communications, and H2S.
Essential Functions:
- Track incoming and outgoing products.
- Inspect all inventory products.
- Provide inventory control reports as required.
- Perform and maintain inventory account accuracy (digital and physical counting).
- Updates company database with incoming and outgoing products.
- Loading and unloading deliveries.
- Maintain safety while using equipment and tools.
- Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed.
- Deliver equipment/ supplies as needed.
- Diagnose and repair cleaning tools.
- Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstruction which may lead to harm
- Works when scheduled and complies with the company attendance policy.
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies procedures (e.g., safety glasses, earplugs, face shields, etc.) to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
- Attends all safety and health training, as required.
- Observes and practices all safety procedures and policies as per OSHA and company SOPs.
- Travels as required.

- Must be able to see within normal range with or without corrective lenses.
- Must be able to stand and bend for long periods of time in a warehouse environment.

- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
Experience/Education:
1 year of experience in an inventory role. Must be able to pass a drug test as well as a background check and motor vehicle check. Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License
Work conditions: Industrial setting, outside environment, exposure to extreme temperatures and elements possible; exposure to hazardous chemicals possible; extended periods of standing; climbing; ability to use handheld radio/phone.
