Role Description This full-time, on-site Dietitian role is located in Mobile, AL and focuses on providing evidence-based nutrition care within a military healthcare environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, developing individualized care plans, and delivering medical nutrition therapy to patients with acute and chronic conditions. The Dietitian will provide nutritional counseling for weight management, disease prevention, and performance optimization, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to support integrated patient care. Duties also include documenting clinical encounters, participating in multidisciplinary case reviews, contributing to health promotion and education initiatives, and staying current with best practices in dietetics and military medicine. The role may involve mentoring staff, supporting training activities, and contributing to quality improvement efforts in the nutrition services department.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in dietetics and clinical nutrition, including Dietetics and Nutrition skills.
- Experience providing individualized Nutritional Counseling for diverse populations, including those with varying medical and cultural needs.
- Proficiency in Medical Nutrition Therapy for acute and chronic conditions, with the ability to interpret lab values and medical histories.
- Skills in Weight Management, including designing safe, sustainable weight loss or weight maintenance plans.
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or eligibility, and state licensure where required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical team and communicate clearly with patients and staff.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to regulatory and ethical standards.
- Experience in hospital or military healthcare settings is beneficial; familiarity with electronic health records is an advantage.
