Responsibilities:
Coordinates all rehab services (inpatient and outpatient) referrals; greets patients at every stage of the visit; responds promptly to needs, requests, and inquiries of patients, physicians, and team members; ensures that patient insurance information is accurate; verifies that all rehab orders are correct prior to processing; obtains insurance authorizations for evaluations and treatments being performed; processes plans of care/certifications; interacts by telephone, in person, and by email with patients and other ancillary services; communicates written and oral ideas and plans effectively; records all authorization activity; responds to inquiries regarding pending authorizations; communicates with physician office staff, patients, therapists and rehab staff to schedule appropriate rehab services; obtains pertinent medical information and utilizes rehab protocols to determine the most appropriate setting /location and schedule for patients and therapists; enters the request for services, patient demographic data, third party payer and authorization information into the scheduling software; Expedites responses from insurance carriers and other payers, and maintains contact with patients, departments and providers to keep them continuously informed; tracks, reports, and escalates service issues arising from requests for authorizations, financial assistance/ plans of care certifications, or other issues that delay service, to ensure patient access and to avoid delays that may interrupt care of therapies; obtains clinical documentation for submission to payers; interacts with all necessary portals to submit authorization requests electronically to receive as timely of responses as possible, using websites and telephone services as needed; scans health record documents; collects co-payments and time of service payments; employs excellent customer service skills; investigates complaints and works with office manager to find solutions; ensures smooth patient flow; reviews clinic schedule daily, follow proper check-in and discharge protocol; works televox reports, and cancellation/wait list call backs; Sustains the department in a state of readiness; maintains the physical environment for safety of staff and patients and for aesthetic presentation of the area; ensures daily functioning of office equipment, and reports malfunctions/submits work orders as necessary; orders and maintains stock of necessary office supplies, equipment, and forms; sorts and distributes faxes and mail on a daily basis; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the unit; completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards; participates on committees as assigned; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
