Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (Level 2 or Level 3) to join our Marine Systems team in Ocean Springs, MS. In this role, you will support the Launcher Hardware organization, contributing to the engineering development of innovative launcher systems for weapons platforms across various U.S. Navy programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Management & Analysis: Perform requirements development, functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
• System Specification & Traceability: Generate and update system and subsystem specifications in IBM Rational DOORS, including Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM) and end-to-end requirement traceability to test plans and results.
• Documentation & Modeling: Maintain and update system drawings and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Support the creation and refinement of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts (behavioral models, use case realizations, state machines).
• Integration & Verification: Perform system integration, verification, validation, cost and risk assessments, and supportability/effectiveness analyses.
• Customer & Program Reviews: Lead and coordinate preparation, conduct, and closeout for milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR).

Qualifications & ExperienceLevel 2 Requirements:

• Education & Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Technical Skills:
• Experience with requirement and interface management tools (e.g., IBM Rational DOORS).
• Familiarity with MBE/MBSE concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and System/Subsystem Specifications.
• Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Level 3 Requirements:

• Education & Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in requirement/interface management using IBM Rational DOORS.
• Solid understanding of MBE/MBSE frameworks and tooling.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex technical drawings, ICDs, and VCRMs.
• Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Systems Engineering.
• Experience with MBSE modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Background in design, operations, or government specifications for U.S. Navy programs.

Salary Range & Benefits

• Level 2 Salary Range: $79,300 – $118,900
• Level 3 Salary Range: $98,400 – $147,600
