FirstFour Staffing hiring Process Safety Engineer in Mobile Metropolitan Area

We’re seeking an experienced Safety Specialist Supervisor – Process Safety Management (PSM) to lead and strengthen Process Safety Management programs across a complex industrial manufacturing environment.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing Process Safety audits, evaluating the effectiveness of PSM systems and controls, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. You’ll partner closely with operations and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement while leading a high-performing team of safety professionals

.What You’ll D

• oLead the planning and execution of risk-based Process Safety Management (PSM) audits
• .Evaluate process safety management systems, governance frameworks, and critical risk controls
• .Assess hazard analyses, management of change (MOC), mechanical integrity, operating procedures, contractor safety, and other key PSM elements
• .Identify process safety risks through audits, incident reviews, performance metrics, and data analysis
• .Review audit findings, determine root causes, and develop practical corrective action recommendations
• .Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to improve process safety performance
• .Monitor corrective action plans and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
• .Drive continuous improvement of audit methodologies, standards, and best practices
• .Coach, mentor, and develop a team of Process Safety professionals
• .Serve as a subject matter expert on Process Safety Management and industrial risk management
• .Support a culture focused on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

.Qualification

sRequire

• dBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred)
• .10+ years of Health & Safety experience within a heavy industrial environment
• .Minimum of 5 years leading or participating in Process Safety Management programs
• .Experience within steel, chemical, oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, or other high-hazard industrial environments
• .Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and industrial risk management
• .Knowledge of ISO 45001 and other safety management systems
• .Experience leading teams, mentoring employees, and managing cross-functional initiatives
• .Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• .Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• .Willingness to travel as needed

.Preferre

• dISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification
• .Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
• .Additional certifications in industrial hygiene, occupational health, or industrial safety
• .Multilingual abilities are a plus
