About The Role

We are seeking a Process Performance Engineer II to provide technical support and process optimization expertise to production teams at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama. This role focuses on improving industrial processes while balancing safety, cost, quality, and lead-time requirements. The Process Performance Engineer will help develop and implement effective methods, processes, workflows, and organizational solutions across the production environment.

The position will play a key role in production performance, line balancing, capacity analysis, process optimization, continuous improvement, and industrial architecture development. The engineer will also support workshops, Kaizen activities, training, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives while serving as a subject matter expert for manufacturing processes across multiple business units.

Responsibilities

• Develop PERT/GANTT diagrams to identify task dependencies and optimize production processes
• Perform line balancing for individual aircraft MSN production requirements
• Define critical paths and analyze industrial production capacities
• Calculate workforce and resource requirements for production activities
• Build scenarios to evaluate different station and production-line configurations
• Contribute to the development of industrial architecture and optimized workflows
• Conduct time observations to establish ideal process durations
• Identify process deviations and opportunities for improvement
• Perform station and process optimization activities
• Conduct Value-Added and Non-Value-Added analyses
• Identify and analyze misalignments within work orders
• Update work packages across production stations
• Review and process improvement proposals
• Align Airbus Operating System focus areas with established improvement plans
• Lead training and onboarding activities for new team members
• Serve as a subject matter expert in aircraft build processes across multiple business units
• Act as the primary focal point for special projects supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Process Performance Engineering team
• Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and briefings for customers and executives
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree plus approximately 5 years of Airbus or relevant industry experience
• Knowledge of process performance engineering principles, practices, methods, and tools
• Knowledge of basic project management concepts
• Understanding of production workflows across a Final Assembly Line
• Experience analyzing data and using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
• Experience with Airbus planning tools such as AVL2 and EPIQA preferred
• Expert knowledge of Airbus Visual Line 2 preferred
• Knowledge of EPIQA and Airbus SAP transactions
• Ability to facilitate workshops and Kaizen events
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High degree of flexibility, initiative, and ownership
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within international and cross-functional teams
• Ability to present clear and concise information to customers, leadership, and executives
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
