Job Description Summary

The University of South Alabama’s department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking to hire a Research Technologist IV. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

  • Contributes to a research program focused on neuronal stem cell biology, protein translation, and multi-omics analysis.
  • Designs and supervises research projects requiring advanced expertise in complex chemical and biological analyses.
  • Develops and executes experimental strategies to study neuronal stem cell function and differentiation, with a focus on protein synthesis and integrative multi-omics approaches, including transcriptomics and translatomics.
  • Plans experimental protocols and independently carrying out a research program using state of the art methodologies.
  • Designs and implements innovative techniques, collects and rigorously analyze data, and draws conclusions aligned with project goals.
  • Maintains data in a form suitable for publication, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Assists the Principal Investigator in preparing figures, manuscripts, and reports.
  • Maintains detailed and organized records, ensuring timely data sharing, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to advance research progress.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
